Sunrise at Heathrow; Sunset in Barcelona

Sunrise at Heathrow: We were greeted with the most beautiful sunrise this morning. The sky was on fire with reds and pinks as the sun glinted on some scattered clouds. Too bad we did not have time to into London proper. Instead we sat in the airport waiting for the next flight. It’s been 20 years since we’ve been to Heathrow/London. I wonder why it has taken us so long to return? Recently we have been on adventures that are a bit more challenging than going to England. England is too easy. Here we can understand the language, read the signs and even drink the water. That has not been the case in Egypt, or Turkey, of Senegal, or Jordan. We are not here for long however…just a stop on our way to Barcelona. Last night I heard from Barcelona Taxi Company that they will meet us at the airport and take us to our hotel.

Sunset in Barcelona: The taxi met us at the airport as planned and now we are at the Amister Hotel on Avenida Roma in Barcelona. We are not too far from the cruise port, the Gaudi buildings and I hope someplace to eat dinner. As for sunset, it might not be as pretty as the sunrise...the sky is getting cloudy. No matter, we're here, we're safe, and we're looking forward to the next adventure.

Barcelona, here we come

I know, it seems like we just got home, but we are heading out again. This time we are flying to Barcelona to pick up the NCL Jade in order to cruise around the Mediterranean. Since we were on the Jade in September, we know the ship. We know some of the ports too, but we are looking forward to Malta, Ephesus, Agadir, and another taste of Rome and Athens. This time I'm lecturing, while my husband will be the go-fer.

Look at the picture...that's us flying at 32000 feet looking out into the wild blue yonder.
