It worked!

Guess what? I met Nan and her family at Narita! All the crazy planning that we both did actually worked. When we got our boarding passes in San Francisco, we were ticketed through to Bangkok, but we were told that it would be possible to stop in Japan and see Nan. We were hopeful that it would work. Then when we landed, we asked several folks what we needed to do. Everyone at Narita was most helpful and pointed us in the right direction. Finally we went through passport control and out a gate and there was Nan in her lavender coat holding a sign with our name on it! What a treat!

I will post pictures later, but for now, I'm just so happy that we were able to meet Nan and her family (Buzz, Karen and Leo). We talked about everything and nothing, we hugged and laughed and were just excited. What a great New Year's Celebration!

The next hurdle was going through security again and gettting onto our next flight. Right now we are in the RCL at Narita...we have about 10 minutes to spare before we board flight 881 to Bangkok.

It worked. Thank you Nan, Buzz, Karen and Leo for a very Happy New Year gift.
